KINASI is a small, private lodge situated in a coconut and cashew plantation facing Chole Bay on Mafia Island. It provides a high standard of accommodation in only lateen bungalows (one is a family unit with two bedrooms), each with a large verandah and ensuite bathroom. The bungalows have been constructed in rendered concrete block, with palm-leaf (makuti) roofs, and concrete foundations and floors. There is all-day mains electricity and hot and cold water supply from three permanent wells on the property. Rooms are not air-conditioned but one cooled by fans and the large shutter doors and windows.

Day 1 Arrival Dar es Salaam – Mafia Island
When arriving with BA, Ethiopia Airline or Emirate; meet our crew at the Airport and transfer to terminal 2 for the connecting light plane at 15:00 or 17:00hours to Mafia Island, it is half an hour flight with great view of Rufiji River Delta. Dinner and overnight at Kinasi Island Lodge
Day 2 Kinasi Island Lodge
At Kinasi Island Lodge in Mafia, with option of Kayaks excursions, cycling in the village, Reef-walking, Nature Trail, Bird watching as well as swimming and sunbathe. Dinner is set in the Dining Room on a table d'hote basis or as special themed meals at the Pool Bar and Grill. These will include Thai food, Italian (including pizzas), Swahili buffets, and seafood barbecues. Overnight in one of the specious bungalows!
Day 3 Kinasi Island Lodge - at leisure
Relax and unwind and enjoy the beaches of Mafia Island.Dinner and overnight at Kinasi Lodge
Day 4 at leisure
Excursion to Kinasi Island which is packed with numerous ancient ruins including largest ruin of the German colonial administrator; walking excursion to experience village life and activities: boat-building, sail-making, hand-manufacture of coconut coir ropes; nature walking tour to ancient coral rock swimming pools; Picnic lunch will be offered during the day. Dinner and overnight at Kinasi Lodge
Day 5 Departure
Early morning transfer to the Airport for 06:30 flight to Dar es Salaam
